Ceramide Creams

Ceramides are the liquid gold that keeps your skin barrier intact. Your skin barrier is what protects your dermis from bacteria and keeps hydration in. Sphingosine, a chain of carbon atoms with amino acids linked in, connects to fatty acids and makes the magic that is ceramides. Each of these factors adds nutrients back to your skin, reviving and repairing it one step at a time.

  • Amazing for skin hydration, restoring the barrier after exfoliation, not harsh at all

  • Use during day or night time (preferably night for me) and apply a generous amount as the last step of your routine (unless you are using it in the morning, then follow up with sunscreen). This works great after retinol to help keep the skin moisturized while the retinol is at work.

  • Start with one of the creams we’ve linked here but don’t give up if you don’t notice immediate results. Your skin barrier might be more damaged than you think, so give the ceramides time to work their magic.
